LEARNING COPING TOOLS
Coping tools help aid your healing as they lower stress and anxiety. Used correctly, they allow you to cope safely and with care. I’ll teach you healthy coping tools that you can use while we work together and on your own, so that you always have a tool box to reach for during times of need. Your healing journey is unique and the coping tools will be unique and specific to you as well.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) might be right for you if you wish to accelerate your healing process. EMDR uses your own eye movement and other self-administered methods to lower stress, increase the power of your coping, reconcile past trauma, and quiet unexplained fears. While the power of healing is always in your hands, I’ll be your partner and guide along the way, ensuring your fears are never faced alone.
HYPNOSIS
Hypnosis is a relaxing and fun therapeutic method that takes you to a natural, trance-like state resembling sleep. When you choose to use it, hypnosis allows healing in a relaxed, self-controlled state that encourages awareness and inner focus. I often use this tool (which is also known as guided imagery) to enable the EMDR process and help you create a safe place for your healing.
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a technique that helps you build tools to change your sometimes overwhelming thoughts and enable constructive behaviors. Together, we’ll determine the right tools for you and I’ll teach you how to use them to navigate whatever comes your way.
THERAPEUTIC DREAM WORK
If you enjoy your dreams and want to explore them further, or if vivid dreams are affecting your sleep, come join me for some therapeutic dream work. Dreams have been used throughout the ages for healing. Together we can harness them, opening the way for you to explore the underlying cause of your dreams and learn more about yourself—for personal growth and healing. For example, if you’re having nightmares, there are ways we can work with them to create a safe, restful sleep space. Or, you can learn to use your dreams as guides as you progress along your healing journey.
